Located just off A1A in Flagler Beach, Gamble Rogers State Recreational Area is a quiet getaway from the larger developed parks encountered in some of the metropolitan areas of Florida. This small park which is named for folk singer Gamble Rogers is popular with local residents primarily for the 1/2 mile beach, where visitors enjoy swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, fishing or watching the abundant shorebirds which frequent the area.

During the summer months, sea turtles that lay their eggs in the golden-brown coquina sand and evidence of their efforts during the night can be observed along the shoreline. On the Intracoastal Waterway side of the park, amenities can be located such as picnic pavilions which provide a shady place to enjoy a meal.

Naturalists can take advantage of a short nature trail which winds through a shady coastal forest of scrub oaks and saw palmetto.  Along the trail, visitors to the park can observe many of the local wildlife inhabitants an coastal vegetation common to this area.

Fishing is a popular activity at this recreation area as well. Boaters, canoeists and kayakers can launch from the boat ramp which is located on the Intracoastal Waterway.

The park also offers a full-facility campground situated on the dune above the shore of the Atlantic Ocean.
